The label quickly went bankrupt, however, and Scott worked on a variety of musical projects during the early '70s, hoping to break through. He eventually became manager and producer for the pub rock band Roogalator and produced their 'Cincinnati Fatback,' one of the first singles released by the pioneering U.K. Indie Stiff Records. As (currently) the highest grossing movie series of all time, with over 20 movies to its name (and even more movies and TV series in the pipeline), is there any wonder that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has tons of great music? Infinity Saga MCU.

The Marvels were noted for their doo-wop approach to reggae. The performers heralded from Jamaica and each member had previously been involved in session work. Frustrated by anonymity they amalgamated their talents and emerged as a vocal group in 1964. The line-up comprised Alex ‘Dimples’ Hinds, Nell Hinds and Eddie Smith. As a trio they continued with session work notably as back up singers on Prince Buster’s hit ‘Wash Wash’. The song was performed by the Prince on the first documentary of Jamaican music This Is Ska. The song was also revived in 1994 by Lovindeer, albeit with risqué lyrics. The Marvels recorded throughout the 60s enjoying minor hits with ‘Tell All Those Girls’, ‘Saturday’ and ‘Fleet Street’. During this time other singers performed with the group including Jackie Edwards and Hazel McCauley who joined them when they toured the cabaret circuit. They toured Europe and the Far East and covered songs including the Platters’ ‘The Great Pretender’ and the spiritual ‘Old Man River’. By the early 70s the group released a cover of Aretha Franklin’s, ‘Rock Steady’ on the Pama Records Supreme label and enjoyed their biggest hit. The success of the single led to work with Dandy Livingstone who enrolled their services on his own recordings and produced a number of releases through his Shady Tree productions. The group provided backing vocals for Dandy when he performed, ‘Suzanne Beware Of The Devil’ on UK’s music programme Top Of The Pops. The Pama compilation This Is Reggae Volume Three featured a photograph of their appearance on the cover. Continuing with cover versions they scored hits in 1972 with ‘Then He Kissed Me’ and in 1973 the gospel-flavoured ‘He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands’. By 1974 the disco-inspired ‘Get On Your Feet’ flopped and in 1975 Dimples Hinds recorded as a soloist enjoying a club hit with his version of ‘Why Don’t You Do Right’. As a trio they were unable to emulate the success of ‘Rock Steady’ but this did not deter the Decca Records’ subsidiary Gull when they attempted to revive their career in 1976 with, ‘Lovers Concerto’ a moderate hit. The group featured on a showcase of sentimental reggae in the late 70s touring Europe alongside carnival king, Roy Alton, Tim Chandell, Dandy Livingstone and the Immigrants. Dimples went on to enjoy a successful solo career performing sentimental reggae hits. In 1983 the trio returned to the re-activated Pama label where they enjoyed reggae hit with ‘Heaven Must Have Sent You’. Dimples Hinds has continued to pursue his solo career enjoying a number of hits in the sentimental reggae genre widely referred to as big peoples music.

MARVELOUS MUSIC

Marvelous Music, the musical partnership of Thomm Jutz and Lincoln Grounds, is a rich creative collaboration that defies a most formidable challenge: distance. Despite being separated by over 4,000 miles and an ocean, the duo has produced music heard across a vast range of platforms—television, radio, film, digital and video games—for clients like the BBC, CNN, Apple, McDonald’s, Pandora, Country Music Television, Sharp Electronics and Animal Planet.

JUTZ is a songwriter, guitarist, producer, engineer, solo artist and member of a touring roots music trio.

It was a television appearance by country music legend Bobby Bare that caused Jutz to fall in love with roots at the age of 11, and inspired him to eventually study guitar at Stuttgart Conservatory in his native Germany.

He moved to the U.S. in 2003, and within weeks of arriving his exquisite guitar playing led him on the road with acclaimed singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier. Soon he joined Nanci Griffith’s stellar band, the Blue Moon Orchestra, touring the world. Tours with Maura O’Connell, David Olney, and Kim Richey followed, before settling (mostly) in the studio.

In recent years, his name has been a frequent presence on the Bluegrass airplay charts, earning him International Bluegrass Music Association nominations for Song of the Year (2017) and Songwriter of the Year (2017, 2018).

Jutz produces artists and composes at his recording studio set in the lush outskirts of Nashville, Tennessee, where the cream of the crop of American musicians can often be seen streaming in and out.

GROUNDS is a U.K.-based composer, musician, producer/arranger & engineer. He cut his musical teeth as a guitarist with acts from Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel to Sister Sledge, playing everywhere from dive bars to The Royal Albert Hall.

As a composer, he works mostly in the studio, creating high quality production music for TV, film, commercial sync and online.

He also collaborates extensively, working with artists & co-writers on independent album projects and media productions.

In the behind-the-scenes world of music production, Grounds has emerged as a 'go-to' guy in the U.K. for vintage-style recording. His work on a film made by prestigious production publication Sound On Sound magazine about vintage 1950s recording techniques and equipment has helped pull in over 500k views on YouTube—making it the most successful feature the magazine has ever run.

Notable syncs from his large catalogue of work include household brands like Apple and McDonald’s, viral online campaigns for Samsung and Vogue, and trailers for films like Woody Allen’s Magic In The Moonlight.

Grounds utilizes recording studios all around the U.K., but he's mostly found in his Maverick Music Ltd. studio in the English countryside Northeast of London.
